Change of Plans

Due to the fact that we don't have sand to do the project, yet, so we will put the project on hold for a while... But we will do the video schedule and the powerpoint. I will do the drawing of the physical project.

Tuesday 3/2/2009 First workings on the project

Hi all, tomorrow, Me, Xinyuan and Gerald will start on the video, presentation and the experiment as well. If all goes well, we will have maybe the first few minutes of the video. The first few slides of the Powerpoint and the first draft/experiment on our physical project.

This is basically what we want to do and we might go in depth (if we don't act like clowns halfway through).

1) Write out the specifics of the contents of the documentary. You may use either a storyboard or a timeline
2) Start to research for content & information that you would want to display in your video.
3) Start the physical project as well as take photos of them (I will post them onto this blog, maybe as a photo slideshow).

Everything we have done on the project, will be posted on our three separate blogs. Please follow Gerald's blog http://geraldtong2h40.blogspot.com/

He will also have crucial information on the project. We will post up more information tomorrow.

Work in Xinyuan's house

During that week when we worked in Xinyuan's house, we thought that we could make some major headway, but we encountered some major obstacles. We might have to reschedule a meeting soon

Second post during IPW

Last Sunday, I invited Xinyuan over to research on Coral Reefs. Here is our info.

Information Found:

Coral reefs are one of the biggest superstructures built by nature. Yet, they are being, slowly but surely, destroyed. By whom? Well, by us of course! We break off tonnes of coral each year to make jewellery, ornaments, and for decorations. It’s no wonder that 10% of the coral reefs have been and another 60% are sick and dying.

Corals are actually animals and are home to:

1. Lionfish

2. Moray eels

3. Clownfish

4. Butterfly fish

5. Feather stars

6. Reef sharks

7. Parrot fish

8. Sea snakes

9. Nudibranchs

And, they grow at the same speed as your fingernails, which is about 2.5 centimetres per year. So, for the Great Barrier Reef to reach its length and size, it can be seen from the moon, it has to take at least 18,000,000 years to grow! But it also needs enough sunlight. If not, it will stunt the coral’s growth.

Tourists, however, pluck of bits of coral or brush against coral, and destroy them.

Invitation over to work on project

Today,  Xinyuan and I worked on getting some research done. Considering the scarcity of information that we could find in the books because the internet wasn't working too well, we managed to make some major progress. We have confirmed the title and the rest. But not the actual demonstration project thing. We still have to confirm it.

First Day

Welcome to my first blog. I am the Group leader of Aqua group, not gay in hokkien :P. Anyway, yeah... on our theme, we have decided to do it on ocean conservation. But we still need to touch it up a little.
